Tax

How Pandabase handles sales tax, VAT, and GST on your sales.

Pandabase v2 is still in development, and we're still writing these docs. Some content may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inconsistent between pages.

Pandabase handles sales tax, VAT, and GST for orders where we act as the merchant of record. That includes calculating and collecting tax, then filing and paying it to the relevant tax authority.

At checkout

Tax is calculated as part of checkout. Keep your product descriptions and categories accurate, and make sure buyers provide the billing details requested during payment. These details help determine the tax treatment of the order.

Registration, filing, and payment

Pandabase handles the tax registrations, filings, and payments needed for sales where we are the legal seller. You don't need to file those sales taxes on our behalf.

This applies to sales processed in Merchant of record mode. It doesn't cover sales you make through Pandabase Direct or another service where you remain the seller.

Your records

Keep your order, invoice, and payout records for your bookkeeping. Sales tax collected from a buyer is separate from your earnings.

If a buyer has a question about tax on an order, include the order ID when asking for billing support.

What stays with you

You still manage your own business accounts and any tax obligations outside the sales Pandabase handles as merchant of record. This service doesn't replace your business's accounting or income tax reporting.
