Tax

Your tax responsibilities as the seller on Pandabase Direct.

Pandabase v2 is still in development, and we're still writing these docs. Some content may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inconsistent between pages.

With Pandabase Direct, you remain the legal seller. You are responsible for registering for, collecting, filing, and paying sales tax, VAT, and GST where required.

Before you sell

Determine which tax registrations and reporting requirements apply to your business and its sales. These depend on where you operate, where your buyers are, and what you sell. Work with your accountant or tax adviser to establish the requirements for your business.

Collecting tax

Make sure your checkout and product pricing reflect the tax treatment you need. Keep product and buyer billing information accurate so your records support the amounts charged.

The Direct tax configuration steps are still being documented. Don't assume that using Pandabase checkout registers your business for tax or files returns for you.

Filing and payment

Keep records of sales, tax collected, refunds, and adjustments. You are responsible for filing returns and paying the relevant authorities by their deadlines.

If you want Pandabase to handle sales tax

In Merchant of record mode, Pandabase is the legal seller and handles sales tax on those orders. Compare the responsibilities and rates on Pricing.
